Gregory Silva established Stonehouse and Silva in 1979, in his home town of Alameda. He realized there was a unique need for a quality family law firm in Alameda, a family and business community, that is multicultural and financially diverse. Mr. Silva's first and foremost concern is providing representation that is cost effective and expeditious in manner, while paying close attention and respect to his clients’ personal expectations and needs.

Mr. Silva is a dignified member of Alameda County Bar. He currently serves as the President Elect of the Alameda County Bar Association, is a member of the Consumers Attorneys of California, Alameda/Contra Costa Trial Lawyers Association, and also serves on the JudicialSelection Committee of the Alameda County Bar Association. Mr. Silva has over 30 years of experience and is well-known in the Bay Area legal community for his respect for the law and its magistrates as well as his superior negotiation and litigation skills.

Yasmin James has served as an associate attorney at Stonehouse and Silva since 2003. She graduated from the University of San Francisco School of Law in May 2002. Ms. James currently serves as the Chair of the Barristers Section of the Alameda County Bar Association, and in 2007 she received the Alameda County Bar Association's Young Attorney -Distinguished Service Award. As a law student, she mediated employment discrimination suits with the EEOC. She is also the recipient of the American Jurisprudence Award in property law.

James Stonehouse serves as "of counsel" to the firm in probate related matters.
